"the bruises are all inside, all wrapped up where no one should see them. hurting makes you think you're alone, that you need to be. but you're not."

"i wasn't at my best last night, to put it extremely mild."
"no one expects you should be at your best at all times. certainly not me."

It took me a while to remember what was going on in this one, but it all came rushing back, and now I can't wait to pick up the next one from the library! A good second act, but not my favorite so far.

The story continues and this time our focus is on Blair, the warrior, and Larkin, the shapeshifter.

While the two are likeable characters that make a nice couple, despite being from different worlds, I was once again less than invested in their romance. I did like that they get to have their happy-for-now (as the story hasn't ended yet and they'll have to wait for ever-after), but the book left me wanting more, as I was more interested in the remaining couple and the story itself is still far from over.

Jumping straight into the last book [b:Valley of Silence|59813|Valley of Silence (Circle Trilogy, #3)|Nora Roberts|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1377646212s/59813.jpg|3037754], hoping it will deliver!

Better paced then book 1. This one focuses on Larkin and Blair. I really liked these characters and their interactions. There was some more action I. This part of the series. It is kind of odd to think its a guy telling children this story that has some steamy romance scenes. Pretty decent for a second book of a trilogy. Wouldn't rate it in my top PNR, but not a terrible attempt for Nora Roberts at PNR.

The 6 have gathered. So far they have stood against Lilith, but they want to make a statement. When they step up to Lilith's front door, they strike a blow, but in the aftermath, Blair discovers that Larkin is not limited to man or horse. She is exhilirated by the next change.

She is attracted to Larkin, but she believes she must be solitary as a demon hunter. Larkin is not so sure. He sets out to court her as the team gets ready to move to the next battlefield and begin training their army.

I am enjoying this trilogy. I like the mythology. I took a little on-line course on Celtic myths, so it is fun to me to see this.

It took a few chapters to get used to the switch of focus in characters, but if I’m being honest, I saw it coming. The next book will probably focus on Moira & Cian. I have the same opinion of this book as the last one. A bit cliché in the romance department, and you can see it coming a mile away, but the storyline is interesting enough.
