Definitely the best audiobook I've ever heard. So entertaining. I loved almost every short story. I mean, shit. This was so good. It's turned me into an inarticulate, vague critic.
I loved some of the stories, and others didn't grab me quite as much. The ones I did like, though, will stick with me.

This collection of short stories was my favorite book for a long time. The vibe is very funny and lighthearted but I still feel like the stories say something about life. always a recommend.
One of my favorite books, definitely my favorite collection of short stories. Funny, but rarely laugh-out-loud. B.J. is scathingly smart, and it shows.

If BJ Novak is one thing besides intellectual, it's delightful. This book was a showcase of thoughtful writing wrapped up in a bizarre array of short stories.
The dozens of bite-sized stories ranged from the following topics, and then some:
- Intricate metaphors for life's most universal situations.
- Fan fiction about some celebrity or brand.
- Short but humorous quips you could envision as filler in a stand-up act.
Novak is well versed in literature (he graduated from Harvard), and his message will soar right over your head at times. But that backfires on certain stories where I tried to find a message below the one he graciously laid out. With so many narratives and styles, you can't be 100 percent brilliant, but you're also going to change up the intelligence needed for each tale. I'd like to have a sit-down with Novak so he could explain some of these stories further.
Personal favorites included a sentient sex robot, Malcolm Gladwell scruples, a Hangover-style intervention and a Kellogg's cereal contest. All over the map here.
Overall, it was nice to have a beginning, middle and end in short bursts when I've been cranking out all these novels. Its content and brevity make it perfect for the digital age.
