It's been awhile since I read a book by David Levithan and after hearing him speak at a conference back in September about Every Day, I knew I had to pick this one up.

This is a really interesting concept of a book and I'm surprised it hasn't been published before.

A is just a complex character and I'm not sure if I could handle it the way they did. I'm glad the beginning part of the story included A's background with what he could remember and what types of bodies A inhabits. I liked the relationship that A had with Rhiannon even though it was very complicated at times. They almost had a long distance relationship in some sort of way.

I liked how some of the chapters/days were shorter than others with the back story of some of the bodies that they inhabitated. Some of the different people that A was in I wanted to know more about that particular person but some I just wanted it to be over with. The stories were sad with some of the kids that were depressed and I felt like too many of them were kind of like that. I've read some other reviews and I agree that parts of the books were kind of "preachy" and I found myself rolling my eyes.

There were some parts that had me gasping because I didn't expect some of the things that happened to A to have happened. I wish that I could write about them but I don't want to spoil it :-)

At the end I kind of felt like this book could be a stand alone or it could be a series (I know he said at the conference that he did that on purpose because he wasn't sure if he wanted to continue on with A's story).

This was a fine read. I liked the idea a lot and found the kinds of discussions this book had about gender, bodies and identities interesting. There were some outdated feelings and parts of these discussions that cringed at, but overall they were quite thought provoking.

I found A really interesting as a character. However, I didn't like Rhiannon at all. I just couldn't connect with her or her opinions on most things.

I probably won't continue the series (unless I find them at a used bookstore) but I liked how this ended and while we didn't get all of the answers, I'm okay with what was explained.

Interesting storyline with the gender less aspect and the different bodies, the ending felt quite week though.

I don't know how I feel about this book. At some point it is relatable but then it isn't. Also, what a flat ending.
