The one surprise you will encounter while reading it is to find how hilarious it is (except the killing parts), admittedly my expectations from it were higher, because I was prepared to find two serial killers with tragic history and big insecurities, but… it moved fast. It was entertaining though, and could definitely get you out of a reading slump.

4.5 stars. Two serial killers falling for each other while competing with one another… sign me up. The banter between Rowan and Sloane and their dynamic with one another was top tier. The way he fell for her the moment he met her and waited patiently for her until the end 😭. I honestly couldn’t put this book down. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

I grabbed this book because I had seen online that it was popular, I had no idea what it was about other than it being a romance. Ummm… this is the wildest romance book I’ve ever read, and if you are squeamish maybe you should avoid this one. Even though it is extreme, being a romance between two serial killers, this book really makes you feel like there is a perfect someone out there for all of us. I really love when an author does something different and Brynne most definitely did.

Who knew a serial kiIIer romance could be so funny and so good?!

Butcher & Blackbird was exactly that - a serial kiIIer romcom that had me both giggling and cringing at every page.

I don’t know how Brynne Weaver did it, but she made me fall in love with these two murderers so quickly! Rowan is absolutely gone for Sloan, and if you’ve seen my Abby Jimenez reviews you know I’m a sucker for a man who dumps for his woman. Their relationship over the years develops so naturally, and when I read about the tattoo on his back I was an absolute goner. If Rowan Kane’s fan club has zero members it’s because I am dead.

The book starts with a list of trigger warnings - definitely read them! If you have an issue with body horror or gore this book is not for you. It was, however, for me. 4 stars.

This had everything I could want in a book about serial killer romance. Dark humor brings me so much joy and this book brought me so very much of it. The spicy bits helped a bit too ;-)
Heed the CWs at the beginning. Not for those who are squeamish nor for those who don't like detailed spice.

I loved this so much more than I probably should have considering it’s a book about murderers! Oh how I love Rowan though! I stayed up until 2.30am to finish this book because I couldn’t put it down. Also if you can listen to the audiobook, really enhances the reading experience.
