This book contains an incredibly fun, engaging and enjoyable story. I enjoyed it a lot. The one star off is for the thin layer of grime? for lack of a better word, that feels like it covers the way it is written.

5 stars for being compulsively readable, and for creating a realistic-to-the-point-of-terrifying version of the near dystopian future. This book is very plot-driven, and that's not always a bad thing.

1 star for the stereotypical nerdy ostracized white teenaged dude saves the world and wins the girl plot line (I would put a spoiler alert on that, but honestly, did you really expect much else?). Honestly, Aech, Art3mis, and Shoto seemed way more interesting to me by the end - I would much rather have heard more about them. Falling back on this trope just shows a lack of imagination and writing skills.

I love video games and immersing myself in this story was incredible. If you love this book, don't watch the movie.

I liked it! Interesting concept and written in a way that kept me hooked. Some of the references were very obscure but it was a good read!
