Though I loved the story, the writing made it a very laborious task. Sad because I really wanted to love it. Loved all the old 80’s references though

If you are familiar with video games, music, and movies from the 1970s to 1980s, you may find Ready Player One an entertaining read. However, if you do not have any prior knowledge of pop culture from these decades, this book may provide to be a mediocre story.

I understood roughly half of the pop culture references, which is one of the reasons why this books wasn't a page turner for me. The sci-fi storyline meshed well with the futuristic setting of the story. Those interested in video games and the use of technology in the future will likely enjoy Ready Player One.
