I received a copy via Net Galley.

This was a great sequel to The Witch's Kiss. I was a bit worried at the start as it took me awhile to get into but it soon picked up.

In this book, Merry's Gran is kidnapped and the majority of the book is spent trying to find her. The coven decides that Merry can't help so Merry does some investigative work by herself. We are introduced to some new characters in this book Finn who is a wizard and is trying to help his brother who is under some sort of spell. We also meet Ronan who Leo falls for.

One thing that I really liked in the first book was the relationship between Leo and Merry. I really enjoy reading about a good sibling relationship. In this book, their relationship was not the same as in the first book as they were constantly arguing which I didn't like.

The last part of the book was full of action and there was so much that happened. I had guessed who the bad guy was but I didn't know what was going to happen at the end. I can't believe the massive cliffhanger that this book is left on and I can't wait to read the last book I just wish I didn't have to wait a whole year.

The first book wasn't very compelling and I just have no interest in finishing this book right now, maybe I will come back to it but I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

4...Wow...I guess, in this case the sequel was better! And the epilogue's cliff hanger has me wanting to jump into the next segment in this series...I feel like the introduction of new characters really help this book along, BUT it still had so annoyingly drawn out parts...Worth the read...And a great many questions unanswered!

Unfortunately, this book was not an improvement from the first one.
Merry shouldn't have even been the main character as nothing happens to her, it's Leo who starts a relationship with Ronan, her Gran who is kidnapped and Flo who dies. She literally does f*ck all until the last 50 pages.
On the upside there is a transgender cat called Tybalt.

Final rating: 4/5 stars

The Witch’s Tears is an amazing sequel to the Witch’s kiss which leaves you wanting more!
It introduces some new characters that have not only have an interesting roles in the story but also give the story more depth.
Also, the plot itself, in my opinion, was better constructed; more things were going on and it felt more as a whole story.
It has great twists and turns but not too many, just enough to fully enjoy the story and...

GOD I NEED THE SEQUEL RIGHT NOW.

I actually enjoyed it, it managed to have a lot more focus on the main characters and their relationships, whilst having enough action and mystery to not feel like a filler story before the finale.
