This was truly interesting. What i thought was a simple romance was a mystery romance lol. At least that’s what I’m calling it. I was intrigued but the level of scariness it invoked in me.

Ciara was very like able and I truly hate the this weirdo just latched on to her and was making her life so miserable. I absolutely love how she kept a village lol. Even though she refused to utilize them, which is understandable, she felt she was protecting them. However she was definitely a lovable person and I’m so glad it worked out in her favor.

Lincoln is everything !!!! Simply put. He was as stinking adorable it ain’t make no sense. I love his love for him family and how he was harboring negativity from his past but he didn’t let it stop him from opening his heart up for Ciara. I love their story !!!

So this is my second book (Only For the Week) by Natasha Bishop and let me just say, she has a loyal fan in me.

The way she writes male characters is so refreshing. Truly the way she writes all of her characters! For example, in this book we meet our MC Ciara, who is stubborn but also a badass. Natasha writes black women who get to explore the range of womanhood, flaws and all.

I ain’t gon hold you, I shed a tear with this one. I couldn’t put my finger on it at first but I think every single book I’ve read by Bishop, something feels so visceral, so relatable! I mean the camaraderie between her old friends and her new friends, the relationship with Nevaeh, so adorable. And don’t get me started on Linc, what a guy lol.

The story itself was sweet and a bit thrilling. I will saw the “climax” and “thrill” of this book had me forgetting that was a plot point LOL. I loved this book and Bishop’s work will always find a home on my shelf
