This was my second read by Natasha Bishop. I’m not sure exactly what I was expecting with this book but I enjoyed it! It definitely is more romantic suspense than contemporary romance.

We meet Ciara who just moved to a new city to escape something in her more recent past. She doesn’t wanna connect with new people for valid concerns & fears. But when she met very sweet, very cute Nevaeh & her mom Sasha, she couldn’t resist making friends. Which leads us to our MMC, Lincoln, uncle of Nevaeh/brother of Sasha.

Lincoln, the firefighter who made me swoon. He knew from the beginning Ciara was meant for him, his Angel. I really appreciated how he never rushed Ciara to knock down her walls. He gave her space & opportunity to be loved which helped her be more vulnerable.

Eddie, the antagonist in the book. Yeah he was a gahdamn weirdo & I could not understand why HE was so mad at HER for something HE did. I could not wait for his demise. Although… I just kinda wish there was more done with that scene.

Overall, really great book & I can’t wait to read Nina’s story.

Can I just say...PERFECTION! This book gave you all the feels and I for one did not put it down until I was done, and I didn't want it to end. Natasha definitely came with her A game on this one and Ciara and Lincoln were definitely what you wanted. Running from Baltimore to Austin, Ciara thought she would fly under the radar...nah Sis. She meets Sasha and Nevaeh at Sasha's coffee shop, which leads her to Lincoln (the firefighter) - Sasha's brother and a whole entire new family and support system. Sasha and Lincoln heat up the pages as her past comes calling, but her family- both of them want her to stop running and LIVE. This book worked and worked well. It was romance, suspense, thriller, comedy - between the group chats and phone calls I was cackling at 3am. Natasha, please tell me book 2 is coming soon because SHE(me) READY!

Stars in my eyes

This book was phenomenal! I was literally on edge terrified about what would be on the next page. This book was so different from the typical stalker books. Ciara had never been in a relationship with this idiot, she didn’t even know him. But in typical fashion for them, instead of him accepting responsibility for his actions he blames Ciara and makes her life a living nightmare.
I was so glad to see Ciara handle her business, and got that man out of her life. And of course the HEA was beautiful!
