My rating - Four Stars.
I really enjoyed is book and I can understand the hype also I think the book is better than the TV show. I think people who like the lord of the rings by J.R.R. Tolkien or realm breaker by Victoria Aveyard may like is book. The cover of book was fine but bit boring and the writing was great also easy follow also the ending was well done.

The atmosphere was well written, and the world building was amazing also magic systems was great. I while reading for book I felt both the Lord of the Rings and game of thrones vibes. The paced of plot was very slow and the paced was unsteady. I like most characters, but I think then were too many characters and I think some of side characters needed flash out bit more.

I am reading this to humor my husband. I find the "journey" of fantasy novels tedious and irritating. Rand, Mat and Perrin are already going mad and I'm supposed to go on this journey of them going mad for 15 books! I don't think I'm going to make it.

It took me three years to finish this book but I think I figured out how to read it so I can pay attention despite the tiny ass writing and little bitty margins: listen to the soundtrack from the show.

I do intend to read the rest of the series, even though this one was a struggle and I can’t remember much of what happened.

Some people jump out of airplanes, others climb Everest.

This book series will be my Everest.

Overall really enjoyed the world building and flow of the book, curious to see where the characters go.

Soooooo... holy crap.

There were a lot of things that I had to get past, or get used to, with this book, first of all. One, I haven't read any high or epic fantasy since early high school, so that was new for me. Secondly, I didn't even realize until halfway through that there was a freaking GLOSSARY in the back, because of the way the book is formatted for the Kindle. Thirdly, there were a few moments where tense, dramatic moments were ruined by melodramatic writing - for example, characters screaming, "Nooooooooo!" in nightmares, or watching others die, etc.

However, this was pretty freaking fantastic. I constantly got Perrin and Mat mixed up until about halfway through - and then when their characters were more contrasted, I was able to appreciate all the characters individually. I can't think of a character in this book that I didn't find compelling. There were points where I thought, "Well, would have seemed a lot less abrupt and afterthought-like if we'd had even some hint or related incident of this earlier in the book" (for example, the wolf thing seemed rather, I dunno, convenient). However, it all made sense, and while I got a little distracted by some heavy LOTR overtones, for the most part I enjoyed ever moment of this book. Can't wait to move on to the second one. Actually, I can; I'd like to blow through a couple shorter books before I sit down with another volume that will take me two months. XD
