It was hard to get started, but once the story started picking up, I started to get really invested. It was a little predictable, but not so much so that it was not enjoyable. I hope it continues down the path I think it will take.

Lovely world and plot - I breezed through this. I enjoyed the dream magic system too. That said, a bit heavy on exposition at times. Felt a bit info dump-y. Also not a big fan of the black and white evil tropes.

I've heard a lot of praise for the Wheel of Time series, and the first book doesn't live up to the hype. It isn't bad, but it isn't that good either. With better writing the story could have had a lot more weight and feeling, but as it stands, the characters, their adventures, and their dialogue felt pretty flat. Not sure if I'll continue reading the series or not at this point.
