i was obsessed w frances hodgson burnett as a child. wild to come back to it but it still hits a little bit if we ignore a lot of stuff.
Alurnya ringan banget, konfliknya pun nggak berat. Walau gitu, jalan ceritanya nggak ngebosenin. Pembaca seolah-olah diajak merasakan jadi Sara, apa yang Sara pikirkan, apa yang akan Sara lakukan. Dan part yang nyesek itu, pas bagian bapaknya meninggal, tepat di hari ulang tahunnya.
Such a darling little classic book for young girls. Perhaps best as a nighttime reading. It’s the story about a young girl who perseveres through adversity and keeps her cool throughout and, of course, has a happy ending. It’s nice to read stories like this every now and then.

If I had read this as a child, it would have been among my favorite books ever. I was tearing up at the beauty of the rescue after the utter dreariness of the loss.

I REALLY enjoyed this book. I feel like it reminded me of my place in the world, and to always have empathy and sympathy for others. It was a little strange— especially when Ram Dass snuck into Sara’s room— but I still enjoyed it immensely !!

The time i read this book. I loved it. It is a really nice read for kids.
My super most favorite childhood book. Probably the origin of my obsession with orphans, and definitely the fomenter of my hatred of Shirley Temple, whom I held personally responsible for the abomination that was the movie adaptation she starred in with a Regina ex Machina and a not-dead father and other monstrosities of sentimentality. I still love this book.
