I read this when I was a munchkin, loved it, and I still love it. No matter what the form, I love it. It's like a love story without the icky romance and it's like a rags-to-riches story, except that it's more like a riches-to-rags-to-raggier-rags-to-riches. It makes me laugh and cry and go into fits of unexplainable rage when I read about Ms. Minchin.
But, oh, the light of the story is Miss Sara Crewe and her ever-faithful friend, Becky. They make the story come alive and in my favorite part, the part where Sara has a conversation with Emily and just loses it... that's my favorite because she loses it and then very quietly and gracefully, regains it. Amid all that hardship, she knows that Emily cannot help being a doll and Ms. Minchin can't help being who she is.
Sara Crewe is a girl I wish I could be more like; someone who tries to see the good in most everyone, who makes the best of any situation, and treats everyone with kindness and respect. EEK, how I LOVE HER!

كانت القصة تمتصني من كل ما حولي، قصة سارة كروي، الفتاة في مدرسة الآنسة منشن، أو سالي كروي كما نعرفها نحن من طفولتنا، في فصل أنهيه كنت أسمع أغنية المسلسل الكرتوني" أنا جرح الزمان..أنا قصة انسان..انا سالي "
يصبح العالم كما لو أنه لا يوجد به سوى الآنسة منشن وآنساتها الصغار، والعليّة الباردة، وخيالات سارة كروي الرائعة، والكثير..الكثير من الأمل الطفولي اللطيف، جميعنا نحفظ القصة عن ظهر قلب، أو قل ماكان منا من أطفال سبيستون، لم أكن أقرأ لأجل القراءة، وإنما شعرت بالحاجة للعودة إلى طفلة في الثامنة او التاسعة تجلس أمام إحدى أشهر قنوات التفاز للأطفال لا تحمل من الدنيا سوى هم سالي.

Classic. Love it :) Read it when I was in middle school
As you can see, I still enjoy children's books. I read this one about five times while I was growing up. I always wanted to be like the little princess; no one would ever bring that girl down. She rocks my world!
