As I suspected, I had read this like 10 years ago, but had forgotten it enough that it was still a good read. Crazy!
I think this is one of his better books because he was able to mix the romance and thriller aspects well.
This was such a great read! The author knows how to captivate you and pull you into the reading with great details. There’s quite a twist on this story that I was not expecting (as I didn’t read the plot before I started) and it kept me on my toes. I love how each chapter ended with you wanting more.
What an entrenching story. Once again, it is shocking to me that a man can write these fantastic books for women. This one was both a romance and thriller. The story of a woman and her dog and her finding love again. It also involves a man who becomes obsessed with her and stalks her. Very scary thing to endure for any of us. If you have ever had someone act even remotely like this guy to her, you will be able to relate to her character and her fear of this man. Do not read if you cannot handle tear jerkers that involve the fur babies in our lives.
sad
3.5/5. Not my favorite Nicholas Sparks book but it still kept my attention and was a quick read.
I usually relate to, and fall in love with, one or two characters; in The Guardian, however, I loved nearly all of them. Each person brought something special and important to the story and to the relationships.
I absolutely loved this book! I laughed, I cried, I contemplated, I laughed and cried some more... The roller coaster of events is animated but incredibly believable. From Richard's creepy tendencies to Mike's heady compassion to Henry's older brother duties to Julie's desire to be happy and Singer's mission to be The Guardian.... Definitely a story I'll be recommending to others

I thought this book was amazing. Sparks did an amazing job touching on a topic that is so real and more serious then a lot of people realize. From the very beginning there was something just not right about Richard which increasingly became more clear as the book went on. The man was a sick psycho path who had chosen Julie as his next obsession. He was willing to stop at nothing in order to have her. Even through living in fear of this monster, Julie stayed strong. She sought the help and support of friends and authorities. Julie also had her guardian, Singer (her dog), at her side ready to protect her til the end. Her relationship with her dog proved just how strong love can make you and save you. With everyone's help, including Singer, Julie's dog, they were able to take down The scumbag, Richard, and give home exactly what he deserved. Definitely an intense story full of love, hate, obsession, and suspense.
