Natasha Anders won again! This book is amazing!!!!!! I fell in love with the story and characters. His Unlikely Lover was different from The Unwanted Wife and A Husband's Regret. This was a book about two friends coming to terms with the fact that they were made for each other from the beginning.
The Story, while it still had that "Unwanted" aspect woven within the story, it wasn't really the main focus with I loved. I'm all for angst and TUW and AHR were instant favs because Ms. Anders did it so well in those books but His Unlikely Lover didn't as much scenes with caused me pain. Don't worry, there are MANY scenes that did cause me heartache but not as many in the previous books. There were more scenes that had me swooning and it takes a lot to get me to swoon! I loved this book because of how sweet and beautiful the story was.
I loved Gabe from the moment I met him which is a first with Natasha Anders! Her men usually have to grovel and don't be mistaken, Gabe had to do some begging too which made me love him more. I loved how caring he was with not only Bobbi but with Chase too. He was such a great guy and I truly do love him and his gentle nature with Bobbi.
Now, let me tell you about Bobbi...boy oh boy did I love her! She was such a great female lead! I loved how vastly different she was from Natasha Anders' other female heroines. She was such a strong and enduring woman. She had such a great career and didn't let it faze her that her occupation wasn't a conventional job for a woman (I love how it was touched upon and how she did acknowledge the difficulties she knew she could face but still continued on with her dream) I also loved how she knew who she was and would not change for anyone! She was also such a firecracker and I love my girls with some spunk!
I NEED another Natasha Anders book, her writing keeps getting better and better!

I think this may be the first friends to lovers book that I’ve finished from beginning to end without skimming. The way Natasha writes is so captivating.
I felt Bobbi’s pain and hurt while she watched Gabe give everyone focus except for her. My stomach dropped when he explained they were not about to start dating but made her feel like their attraction to each other was something to be hidden and shame filled.
And I enjoyed every time he brother put him in his place and everytime Bobbi let him know she deserved better. I could feel my own strength grow alongside Bobbi’s, that how great the writing was.

2.5* rounded up. After a slow start it was a pretty decent read. I'm glad the hero got over himself quickly enough and there was a grovel and a chance to redeem himself.

Not my favorite by this author but I still really enjoyed this one. It had the perfect amount of groveling. Plus, it was really hot.
