This was a really innovative idea for a book. It was just executed poorly. J.R. Rain needs an editor. This read like okay fanfiction. It could have been edited so much better; there were awkward sentences, incorrectly used words, incorrect sentences. It was just bad.

I enjoyed reading it. I did find a few things a little annoying though. Such as the fact that a vampire, who prides herself on being tough and so strong, who keeps saying how important her children are to her, would let herself be blackmailed in to giving them up. Or that after 6 yrs, it still hasn't occurred to her to let go and find out what she can really do now that she's a vampire. Other than that, I actually enjoyed reading this and would actually read the others in the series.
I very much struggled through this book. I picked it up on a whim as it sounded interesting but in the end I found the character very steriotypical vampire with no development on the idea. The constant reminders, within a few sentences, of many things with a lot of repetitions of themes or her thoughts throughout the book made me rather frustrated at times. Also the over description of the men made her seem sex craved. The constant reminder of her icy skin or the unnecessary over description of something that had happened earlier made it a hard going read. Sad as it seemed a promising idea. A lot going on without much depth put into most of it. Seemed to jump theme to theme. I will keep going with the series mainly only as the cliffhangers are infuriating.

Amazing quick read! I love the character, Samantha Moon. She's sarcastic and witty, and even when it seems like everything is falling apart she still holds on to her humor. I won't say too much because I'm afraid I'd give some spoilers, but for sure this is an awesome vampire read. Can't wait to read the others!
