A suprisingly good vampire detective novel. I really shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but I did and so I wasn't expecting anything ... and yet this was really fun

Entertaining, quick read.

Good start looking for more

Just getting started on this series. Good so far looking forward to read the next one. Hoping to see her husband fall off a cliff...lol

Samantha Moon is a privet detective. She is also a married mother of two children who become a vampire six years ago after a brutal attack.

I found this book by an accident, never heard about it before. It was okay. I wish it was longer with more mystery part development. I'll probably read another book in the series.

I'd say this isn't a stand alone book; rather it stops abruptly, explaining to be continued in book 2. Disappointing finish to an overall fun read!

Samantha Moon is a private investigator...and just happens to be a vampire. She was turned and now her life has been turned upside down. Her husband is afraid of her, she has to work nights and cannot keep chocolate down. Her husband is cheating on her and she is trying to keep a normal life for her two children.

This is the first of a series and it starts off very strongly. She is hired to find out who tried to kill Kingsley Fulcrum who happens to be a werewolf. There are some interesting characters like Fang who she talks to online.

Great for a quick summer read. I did enjoy Sam Moon, she a good character. I would have liked for the story to start with her being turned and what she went through, but it was filled enough, I guess. I will probably read the rest of the series just to add the books I need to my challenge and they were a quick read and I am WAY behind, lol.

If you enjoy the True Blood series, mixed with Alex Cross (quick read/detective) you will enjoy this series.

I am SO not into vampire stories. But I loved J.R. Rain's Knighthorse mystery series and I found that his tongue-in-cheek approach to his characters works well. So, on the hope that he would apply the same style to his vampire-sleuth Samantha Moon, I downloaded the ebook (currently free on Amazon.com) and gave it a try. It was entertaining, and thankfully he doesn't take the vampire and werewolf world too seriously. So part of the enjoyment of this is to watch the author take a normal mom and wife and see how she fares once she becomes a vampire against her will. I'll read more in the series.

This was a free book for Kindle. Not bad for a first book in a series. It was a quick and light read. I'll try out the next in the series and see how it goes.

This book wasn't that bad.. I was looking through kindle Unlimited books that you can listen to and saw this and thought What the hell? I mean I didn't love it.. But I didn't hate listening to it.

Sam was attacked and turned into a vampire against her will. She did work for the FBI but now can't go out at night so she has her own PI business. She has two children and a husband. she doesn't want to loose that life. So when her husband starts cheating on her she lets it go... uh NO. This pissed me off and then when she started dreaming about someone else she freaked out on herself. Lady your hubby is sleeping with someone else and isn't even trying to hide it.. I'm pretty sure its cool if you dream about another guy.

Other than that little irritant that book was good. It was about an actual case and not a whole lot of drama.

I went on and started the next book.. and stopped at about 10%... One of my biggest pet peeves in a book series is when there are obvious inconsistencies. In this book Sam is 37 and at the very end of the book her husbands girlfriend dumps him.. In the start of the second book, his GF is taking the kids for ice cream and Sam is 34... Like those are some pretty big freaking things to just change on a whim. I don't know if ill get around to reading the rest of the series. Maybe when I'm not pissed anymore.
