I feel like I don't have an opinion on this story yet; I need to read the second volume to know what I think! I'll review both volumes together then.
4 stars. The plot of this was definitely not what I was thinking it was going to be. I’m actually glad that it wasn’t though because this was so good and a bit darker than I was thinking it was going to be.
While I did genuinely enjoy this, I will say that I enjoyed the beginning half a lot more than I enjoyed the last half. I thought the build up and the way Gaiman set up the setting of the graveyard was so well done. It was scenic and it made me feel like I was in the graveyard with Bod. Speaking of Bod, he was a great and lovable character. I really enjoyed watching him grow up from a toddler to a teen and by the end he was a well developed character.
I also really loved the other characters that were in the Graveyard, especially Silas and Mrs. Owens. They were all a very unique and fun cast of characters.
Overall, I would recommend this book. It’s a quick read with an interesting story and scenic writing.

The Graveyard Book er en veldig fin historie om en liten gutt som vokser opp på en kirkegård. Hvert kapittel forteller sin egen lille historie og er illustert av ulike illustratører. Hver for seg er illustrasjonene veldig vakre, men selv om de likner veldig på hverandre, merkes det er de er tegnet av ulike illustratører.
Jeg likte virkelig ikke kapittel 3. Illustrasjonene skilte seg litt for mye fra de andre kapitlene, på en negativ måte, og handlingen interesserte meg ikke like mye som resten av boka.
Neste kapittel, altså kapittel 4, var derimot utrolig flott. Her var handlingen interesant og dette var absolutt mitt favorittkapittel.
Jeg er litt usikker på om jeg har lyst til å lese volume 2. Jeg kommer nok ikke til å plukke det opp med det første i alle fall.

Absolutely enchanting. Ive been searching for something that could make me feel such magic, and I found it in this graphic novel. Excellent and beautifully illustrated.
