I just realized that I am not a graphic novel person. This is my second graphic novel that I "TRIED" reading, but I just don't seem to get along with it!

Also my library doesn't have any other volumes, so I think this is it!....

I like it much more as a graphic novel.

Probably would have loved the book version more but any connection with Gaiman is worth any amount of time. It was fun.

I love the original novel and the first volume of the graphic novel adaptation is just as awesome. It's a special treat too to see these characters brought to life and how that matches up with what you saw in your head the first go around. Nobody Owens' world comes to fantastic and vivid life and the story is just as engaging and heartwarming. My favourite section has to be the 'Dance Macabre' chapters. I really enjoyed that section in the novel and I love the art here. Especially Silas' reaction to Bod's questions at the end.

The first volume in a two volume graphic version of the award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman, this book celebrates the original story as well as several top graphic artists, who each take a chapter in the tale. True to the written story, this graphic version has a wonderful creepy vibe and does not shy away from the horror elements. The story is brought vividly to life by this new format and also brings it to new readers who may not have read the written work.

Thanks to the signature illustration style of each of the artists, the book takes different views of the graveyard, the characters and the story. With each change in artist, there is a sense of refreshment and wonder anew. At the same time, the illustrators adhere to certain elements, so that Bod looks like the same character throughout the book as do other main characters. The various ghosts glow on the page, Silas is a gaunt dark figure who commands attention, and Bod himself is a luminous child that is the center of the story both visually and thematically.

Beautifully and powerfully illustrated, this new version of the book is a masterpiece. Readers will wait eagerly for Volume Two. Appropriate for ages 9-12.

Love!! It’s one of my favorite books I’ve ever read and the graphic novel really transports you! Will need to buy this to be able to read this to my son!

First challenge for the Biannual Bibliothon is done! Not quite sure how I feel about this one, but it was interesting!

I loved the Graveyard book, so I had to check out this graphic novel version....pretty good!

There was nothing overtly wrong with this book, or anything that would turn me off it. I love the original story. I guess this just wasn't compelling enough for me to read straight through. I set it down for a while and it took some persuading to get back into.
