I never thought I would enjoy a non-fiction book as much as I have enjoyed this. A truly fascinating and engaging read that manages to inform in great amounts of detail with amazing efficiency so much that I never knew and never even wondered about regarding tuberculosis all while holding my attention and also weaving in personal human stories to truly bring such an informative work to life and hammer home why this matters so much.
Overall, an absolutely brilliant, fascinating and engaging book.

This book reads like having dinner with John. It is incredibly informative with tying all the history, and cultural impacts together, while humanifying TB by sharing Henry's present day story. I could not stop thinking about this book when I wasn't reading it, and I genuinely thought I was going to ugly cry for a bit. Thank you John, for writing this so beautifully, and sharing the health inequities that can be fixed if we as a society chose to.
