Cheesy af, but cute read.

“Callie radiates an innocence that’s good and pure and infectious. That type of flawlessness belongs with an equally honest energy. But f*ck that. I’m a corrupt bastard and she’s all mine.”

Charming, butterfly-inducing, and deliciously sexy, Score on You swept me completely off my feet. It’s dreamy, it’s steamy, and it’s full of all that Harloe wit and her characteristic bold and consuming character chemistry. This one just made me smile- I loved this story of a fierce, but gentle love found in my favorite bar in one of my favorite small towns.

If you thought Harloe Rae was the queen of broody but dreamy jerks, you just have to meet her over the top OBSESSED leading men. No pretense, no hesitation, no games- Ridge basically hears “boy obsessed” and says hold my beer. This is NEXT level man obsessively and selflessly in love with his girl. He’s ridiculously devoted, attentive and caring, and panty meltingly protective. He’ll move the earth for Callie, and it’s just so magically romantic. His heart is hers from the very first page, and he does not waver. But what is the most sexy (outside of his dirty talking mouth) is how he engineers emotional and physical safety for a girl that has had none. She’s been powerless and trapped…and the ways he supports are truly so swoony. He empowers her, respects her, cherishes her for her quirks and uniqueness. He allows her to blossom and shine, and not in a controlling way. He lifts her up instead of coddles her, and gah I’m a goner for him.

Callie is very different from the other Harloe heroines, especially in this series. Not only is she more shy and inexperienced, she’s also grown up in an entirely different world. She’s so quirky and at times adorably odd- but I loved watching her not only discover what REAL unconditional love is supposed to look like and feel like, but her also finding her own security in her sense of self, embracing her hesitant courage and leaning into the wonderful found family before her. And I love how she awakens Ridge- almost immediately. A stoic and detached man becomes one of overflowing expressive love and loyalty. Gah, they are just so adorable together. And sweet Callie deserved a gentle pitbull of a book boyfriend after all she’s been through- they just MELTED me. This is a there are already feelings from page one type of story, so the feeling burn is hella fast- the journey is more about them diving into them, but the physical burn is slower given our heroine’s upbringing and inexperience.

If you need an over the top, obsessively in love with her book boyfriend and a book that’s gentle, sweet, and wonderfully low angst, Score on You is a feel good and wonderfully sincere love story that delivers so many dreamy swoons.

This probably just isn’t my thing. There’s nothing WRONG with this book, but the main male character was a bit stalkery and creepy and not in a hot dark romance kind of way. There’s literally no reason for him to be so obsessed with the female protagonist as they never even talk before he’s stalking her and swooping in to try and get her to live next door. Just really not my thing.

I really liked the first half but I felt the second half seemed to drag on. But overall it was good read.

Get you a guy who has a huge tattoo with your name with the line of property on his chest lol. But I cannot deal with the nickname in this book.

Get ready to love Score on You! I loved Ridge and Callie’s story.

Ridge, the silent, sexy protector, is exactly what Callie needs. Their connection is instant and genuine, built on honesty and mutual respect. It takes a bit for the heat to kick in, but once it does, it’s on fire! Perfect for a summer read to turn up the heat!

So much wrongness. I have no issues with doormat/brainwashed FMC that go on a journey of self discovery but that was seriously "bleh" on a lot of levels.
