Honestly after such an amazing first and second book in a series…I’m genuinely disappointed. I waited ages for the last book hoping it’d bring the series back for me from book 3’s weirdness but honestly I’m just frustrated!

I thought something promising was
going to happen as the book kept going and I stuck with it hoping for a satisfying ending but I just feel…dissatisfied as a whole with the series and its conclusion. The ending truly just left me annoyed, after 4 books we ended with that?? It felt so rushed and like it hastily had to come to an end, I just wish it had more thought and more time.

That being said I think this would have worked better as a trilogy eventhough some plots needed more time, just as book 3 was well…you’ll know if you read it, and the end 20% of this book was written with such weird pacing I just feel sad. Plus there was a lot of plot points that were just left unexplained!!

Idk I just wished this would have done more…but the ending felt really rushed and I feel like we spent too long on plot points that didn’t even get wrapped up…idk I’m giving it a 2.5 because after book 1 being so incredible I feel bad about not enjoying this and still love the world and the characters…

Loved reading this book, and how it wrapped up the series, it was so good!

I am devastated but also I wanted more??? This could’ve been longer and more fleshed out

I think after being with these characters for three books now, I needed more closure on their endings. That being said, I liked Bastien and Celine's individual character development and the continued world building and additions to the magic system. It just didn't read like a conclusion to a series until the last 20% which felt super rushed.

I received an arc of this title from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The last book in this series was extremely frustrating for me. Too many plotlines weren't resolved. Some characters got lost entirely while others acted in ways that felt contrary to the last three books. I'm bummed because the first two books I loved so much, and really enjoyed the third.

Finally I finished this goddamn book. Holy shit this was bad. First off why did almost everyone suddenly become a basic bitch? What do you mean
Jae and Arjun died?
What do you mean
The Court of Lions only appeared as like supporting characters and my love Odette never got her yuri ending?
Also fuck that ending to hell. That was awful. Celine gets a mom for barely a month and suddenly she’s all up in arms about it. And sure maybe Bastien shouldn’t have just told her what she should do but maybe like think about it for like two seconds. Also why the random sleeping with
Ali or Haroun or whatever his name is? On that matter why did Bastien know his real name?
Also
Emilie really became a cartoon character huh?
Overall I really hated this as the ending to the series. All the characters lost their good qualities and just started shit for no reason.

After the other books were much better, this book was horrible. It felt like FL got a personality transplant and became a complete idiot who listens to only the worst people. On top of the horrible decisions made, there was endless miscommunication which felt very lazy. I think this author ran out of steam with this one.

After the first book was so good it was always going to be a challenge to keep things moving with the same quality. By the end of the second book I still had hope that they'd be able to weave everything together in a satisfying way. By the end of the third book I had serious doubts but knew I'd see it through.

This book is a perfect example of when an author needs to stop Yes And'ing themself. There is no satisfying conclusion, even outside of the romances. The world building continued to stack on top of itself until it was a mess of threats which each should have been more difficult to manage but ended up one by one being taken out with laughable ease.

After 3 actually good books this was the biggest let down to end of series I think I have ever experienced. I don’t say this lightly but this book sucked. Literally every character acts like a big dumb idiot and can’t communicate after 3 books of doing the exact opposite.
