I am so disappointed in how this book ended. It was such a let down after everything the first three books built up to. Also, the characters who died at the end?! What was the reason??

I grew to hate Celine in this book “she’s my mother, she loves me! How dare Bastien make me close?” You’ve know her for 2 seconds and she abandoned you as a child! And you refuse to even listen to what the love of your life is trying to tell you about her?

This book made me regret reading the previous three. The series never managed to redeem itself as I'd hoped it would, with the ending feeling rushed and confused, with lots of loose ends and clumsily trying to make a moral point to redeem a sloppy and disappointing finale.
