This was a quick read and absolutely hit the spot when I was having Outtatowner withdrawals. This had all the spice and all the small town feels that I’ve come to know and love about Lena’s books. As much as I would’ve loved more Huck & Cass, I love that we got to see the start of their relationship and have a little bit more of the small town charm without having to pick a side of The Grudge!

What a cute novella

Ex welder turned baker, is a broody but a cinnamon roll and touch her and you die vibes say less.

This takes place before the series and I’ll be excited to start it now 💕

Lena has Gifted us with Huck’s Novella & SWOON.

  • Small Town
  • Writer FMC
  • Baker MMC
  • Tourist x Townie

Cass is a journalist visiting Outtatowner to cover the Fall Flannel Festival, with her in town point person being the grumpy bakery owner.

Huck keeps his head down and focuses on his business until a beautiful journalist rolls into town and shakes him up,

I love a good novella and Lena always make me want to move to Outtatowner. This was great short lil spicey book to bring me back to this spunky small town while waiting on the Kings stories.

I was so curious about Huck from the start of the Sullivan family series, and this sweet novella did NOT disappoint. I’m so glad we got a glimpse at the start of his love story!

This was a really lovely novella and I'd recommend for anyone who has read the rest of the series and is looking for a sweet, short read.

I read this after reading the main books and I enjoyed coming back to the series to see how Huck met and got together with Cass. Huck pops up a decent amount as a side character in the main series and it's clear that he and Cass are completely smitten with each other. The way they met and fell for each other was really nice to read and it really backed up the vibes they gave off in the main books.

🧁 small town romance
📔 burly baker
🧁 in town to cover festival
📔 insta attraction
🧁 novellas that make you want more than just one taste 😜

📌”I almost did it. Almost crossed the room, invaded her space, and acted on the des!re coursing through me since the moment she stepped into my kitchen.”

How I missed you, Outtatowner. The Sullivans and the Kings. And all the strangers that become friends then become more. All the ones who make it a home and the ones who are passing by… until they’re not.

I’m on a “novellas? Yes, please!” era. And I like it here. I might stay 😜

Lena Hendrix worked her usual magic and easily made me fell for baker Huck and my fellow journalist Cass. Didn’t take many words for me to be completely under their spell. And now I want more. So much more. All of it. 🖤
