As much as I like Harley Quinn, I just could not get into this book. I thought it would be more established Quinn and not pre-Harley Quinn.

I think it didn't have the things I like about Harley's personality so that made it hard.

This is a fantastic trilogy with one of my favorite DC characters. She is filled with energy and justice and it's time to say enough to the cruelty and whims of the patriarchal wishes from abusive male teens to older. She gets inspired by the Joker and with her girlfriend she'll fight for justice, delivering revenge to each guilty one. Easy to read, the chapters show two timelines: the mystery present, something bad happened to her friend, and the past, how they got into trouble.

I had zero expectations for this one, but it took me on quite a ride. I read somewhere that it is the first in a Harley Quinn trilogy which makes sense based on the book's ending.

This book really takes smashing the patriarchy to a whole new level.
We follow 18 year-old Harley as she navigates being a woman in STEM and how the men in the field cannot seem to see any of the women as equals. I had so much fun reading and following along with this gang of girls and seeing how they take down the next sexist and/creep next! About halfway through it starts taking even more of a mystery/thriller approach which worked so well!
I did however find parts pretty predicable but that didn’t ruin any of my fun. Harley was written very fun and likable to me and really did feel like a teenage Harley Quinn and not just “Haha Harley Quinn all kooky and wacky”.
Since it does deal with people being creeps (but luckily getting their comeuppance) I would say there is a TW for SA, men being creepy and making gross comments in general, and talks of abuse.
Thank you so much again Netgalley and Rachael Allen for the chance to read this for free in exchange for an honest review!

This is a great piece of Bi and ADHD representation. I love to see women writing woman. Rachael Allen's Harley Quinn has more depth and character than I have seen given to the character before, so much so I could tell when a scene seemed to be added by an editor because she changed from being badass to batting her eyelashes at Mr J. This only happens once though and the rest of the book is spot-on amazing. If you are looking for a feminist revenge fantasy this is your next read
