Really enjoyable. Only complaints are that sometimes it read as a travelogue and I guessed the ending early. Not the details. Recommend.

I found this book a bit slow (a lot of descriptions that weren't quite interesting  or well written enough to take up that much space) but the reveal of the mystery was enough of a twist to make it overall enjoyable.

I've heard about this series for years, and perhaps I even read one I picked up while traveling because the main character seemed familiar to me. But I'm glad I have now begun at the beginning. I look forward to reading the next one soon.

I liked it & plan to continue with the series.

had potential

This was an interesting story, but there was a complexity that didn't need to exist. I expect it was pretty 3 translation, part era it was written. I liked it, didn't love it.

The first in the Commissario Guido Brunetti mystery series. When a famous conductor dies of cyanide poisoning in the middle of a performance, Brunetti is called in to find the killer. But in this case, it's more like narrowing down the suspect pool, which turns out to be larger than you would think.
