I love the open affectionate friendships and relationships between the boys, the diversity, and the dialogue and setting. This was another great installment and it’s getting more heated as tensions rise. I loved seeing a closer look into the friendship between Aidan and Harvard and I love Johanna the Mad’s art style. This would make a great sports anime, which I’m sure CS Pacat intended, because I know she likes anime and manga.

Zusammenfassende Rezension Fence 1-3 (Crocu Editionen):
Diese doch eigentlich recht süße Comic-Reihe mit Sport-(Romance?)-Thematik trifft nur so mäßig meinen Geschmack. Ich persönlich bin irgendwie inzwischen nicht mehr so gehyped auf komplett Casual Queerness, irgendwie kommen mir die Charaktere zusammenhängend damit und auch generell recht oberflächlich/underdeveloped und "tropy" vor. Dieses ständige Wettkampf-Ding und der Druck, der damit einhergeht, kam mir ebenfalls recht unhinterfragt vor, da hätte ich mir schon in diesen Volumes mehr von erhofft. Der Art Style begeistert mich auch nicht so wirklich, da war definitiv zu wenig Abwechslung drin, in der Colorierung z.B.
Es deutet sich an, dass das in den nächsten Bänden vielleicht weiter ausgearbeitet wird, aber naja.
Who am I to judge, vielleicht würde mein Teenager-Ich die Reihe total mögen.

I am seriously in love with this series. No exaggeration. Vol. 2 comprises of issues #5 - #8, and it contains so much to adore in such a small portion of the story. A TON of Fencing matches (obviously), cute character relationships (I'm looking at you Harvard and Aiden) and plenty of plot to get my teeth stuck into.
First, Aiden vs. Seiji was the coolest match of all, and I really loved Aiden's technique actually, even though it was pretty cruel. It was about time someone pulled Seiji down a notch, and I loved the effortless charm that Aiden oozes. Also, SO MUCH GAY. Hnnf. I am seriously begging for more at this point! Bobby remains adorable, I really hope that the character starts to get a bit more interaction than 'I LOVE SEIJI' because they are super interesting!
