I’m extremely tired so this won’t be a long review but I LOVED these two! I feel like they balanced each other out so well and August was just.. swoon.
I read this without reading the first book and I was able to understand everything perfectly so reading the first book isn’t necessary in my opinion. (Although Adam and Noah did seem like a cute couple)
Safety info:
- no virgins
- they both only did hookups (August in particular only paid people for sex)
- condoms used one time but then not again
- no OW/OM drama
- no past hookups show up
- only one vers scene but the relationship is pretty vers anyway and they discussed that they are vers beforehand

I wouldn't call this series good, but it is entertaining as long as you don't take it too seriously. With this part it went a bit into the fantasy/speculative fiction realm with Lucas being a psychic, but with the way psychopaths are portrayed throughout the series I felt it was never really in touch with reality.
This book tries to raise some serious topics, but falls short in a lot of ways. Definitely wouldn't choose it for any kind of representation, but it works as hot, a bit edgy romance.
I really liked Noah in part 1, but didn't enjoy his portrayal here as a side character with some cringy dialog.
Also I was excited when it was revealed that August is submissive in bed, but then he had to have a plot reason for it and it wasn't really explored much with Lucas pushing him the other way.

It was nice to see a romance book discuss MMIWG(missing/murdered indigenous women and girls) and how the rates for indigenous femmes is much higher. Even if it was just a brief mention.
