I go back and forth on which book in this series is my favorite , but I think it's this one with the 3rd moonstruck not far behind. August is not only a psychopath, but also has autism, and is a genius. Lucas is a former FBI agent and a psychic, who suffers from PTSD. When I say they are the absolute sweetest to each other, I mean it. August would do anything to make Lucas happy, and I'm here for it.

When his lids fluttered open, August said, “I work for an organization that eliminates dangerous people. People who slip through the cracks in our justice system.”
Lucas frowned. “You’re a genius, billionaire, crime-fighting vigilante? You’re…Batman?”
August grinned. “Exactly. You don’t have to be afraid of me. I’m a good guy.”

I love August and Lucas, They're amazing and honestly this whole book has been so much fun to read!

I'm just sold on this whole series already. I know it's all gonna be amazing. I think I have a new favorite author to add to my list.

Well, my love for this series continues with August & Lucas. When I reviewed UNHINGED, I suggested reading this series if you're into the TV series, DEXTER. That's because the series follows adopted brothers who are all deemed sociopaths. Their father teaches believes their difficulty feeling emotion allows them to be vigilante-style killers, ridding society of the worst kind of people. Hence the series is named, NECESSARY EVILS. I devoured Book 1 & quickly started Book 2.

PSYCHO has more of a CRIMINAL MINDS feel, with our very own Garcia/Calliope. Lucas is a former FBI agent & has the ability to sense emotions/relive the past through objects through clairvoyance. August is brilliant and instantly attracted to Lucas. Too bad they bump into each other and Lucas immediately knows August's secret - he's a stone-cold killer. Lucas is convinced another FBI agent is responsible for the disappearance of women and if he can trust him, August may be the perfect person to help.

What to expect from reading Psycho by Onley James:
Male /Male romance
Lots of on the page sex scenes
Dark humor that makes me laugh out loud
Suspense, tension and criminals
A dysfunctional and lovable family with sociopaths
Sultry love story
dark emotional funny mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Love languages

What is it about this brilliant and breathtaking family? They’ve carved their way into my soul and I never want them to leave. I love how intense they are, how obsessive they can get and how possessive they can be. “Because some part of me chose you and now, I can’t let you go.” Who wouldn’t want someone to look at them the way August does Lucas? Who wouldn’t want someone to make them their absolute center of their world and mean it? Not me.

It did surprise me how much of a sweetie psychopath August is though. “Because I want to remember every word you say.” Sigh, he made my heart flutter frequently and each time I fell harder for him. And then there’s Lucas. I knew he had some uncharted depths but mmm-mmm-mmm. I really want to lick him and call him mine (yes, I know he wouldn’t like that but I can’t help the way I feel). These two aren’t just hot, they’re atomic. I’m talking this book will make you sweat and you better have an ice-cold pitcher handy while reading. August and Lucas made me honest-to-goodness giddy. They made me smile the whole way through and once I started reading, I didn’t want it to end. I loved the the family moments, the hunt and chase, the hints of things to come. Give me more and give me all, I just love, love, love this series. If psychopathy was a love language, I’d be fluent.

Ok yep I'm into this series. I thought the first one was ok, but this one I really enjoyed and couldn't put down. I liked that it took a turn into sci-fi with Lucas's psychic powers, and dipped a bit harder into the psychopath thing. August had a very Dexter-y vibe and I was into it. Looking forward to the next one.
