Psycho

šŸ’€ When a psycho meets a psychic, what could go wrong? Oh, just everything—and I loved every second of it. 🤩

August Mulvaney is a psychopathic genius with a thing for justice (the bloody kind šŸ”Ŗ) and no clue how to connect with people. Enter Lucas Blackwell, an ex-FBI profiler turned professor, whose psychic abilities have made his life anything but normal. From the moment they meet, their dynamic is electric ⚔: August’s obsession meets Lucas’s cautious fascination, and somehow it works.

Let’s talk about August—this man is the king šŸ‘‘ of contradictions. A killer with an IQ of 155 who’s also adorably clueless about relationships? I lost count of how many times I laughed šŸ˜‚, swooned 🄰, and gasped 😱. He’s dangerous, sure, but the way he quietly cherishes Lucas? šŸ’˜ Dead.

And Lucas? This man deserves the world šŸŒ. He’s haunted by his past, struggling to rebuild his life, and suddenly finds himself tangled up with a guy who’s equal parts terrifying and irresistible. Their connection feels inevitable, like two puzzle pieces 🧩 that shouldn’t fit but somehow do perfectly.

The Mulvaney family is chaos incarnate, and I couldn’t get enough of their dynamic. Every sibling cameo brought something special (looking at you, Adam—and yes, still as whipped as ever šŸ˜). The mystery/action subplot added just the right amount of suspense to balance the romance.

If you like vigilante justice āš–ļø, quirky psychopaths šŸŒ€, and a love story that’s equal parts sweet šŸ and twisted šŸ–¤, Psycho will have you hooked. Onley James does dark romance right, with a perfect blend of intensity, humor, and heart. šŸ’„

TW: knife play, torture, murder, kidnapping, breaking and entering, sexual assault, mental health crisis

As was the first book in this series, this was fucking weird. But also oddly endearing. August is an interesting guy. Super smart, kind of funny, pretty autistic. And 100% psychopathic.

Lucas has psychometry, meaning he can see people’s thoughts/intentions/actions by touching them or items they’ve been in contact with. He used this skill to solve crimes with the FBI.

Fast paced and fun!
These two make a great team, and the plot was fun to follow. It’s definitely insta love, though, but I feel like there could have been so much more of them dancing around each other at the beginning that was totally missed out on. Oh well! Still a fun book! The plot of these books is completely unbelievable silly, but

Onley definitely knows how to write psychopaths. I loved this story. I loved the possessive and claiming vibes. I loved how Lucas just kinda went with everything. I loved how the decided what love was. It was a great book with a great storyline. I can't wait to read the others.

I am obsessed with August Mulvaney!! He is the sweetest psycho ever and I also loved the neurodivergent representation. The plot line was great as was the spice. Thoroughly enjoying this series so far!!
