I loved August. Wasn't sure how I would feel about the lil supernatural element in it but it was fine. Onley James is the queen of insta love psychopaths and I am super duper here for it. All I'm saying is where's mine? you know?

dark but also… funny?

This series is so compelling. I couldn’t put either of the first two books down, and I’ve already preordered the third, because they’re just that good. I don’t know how the author manages to make an actual psychopath so endearing, but she does. There’s lots of heat and humor along with some of the darker moments dealing with bad guys. It might not be for everyone, but I’m sure here for it!

You cannot find a more unlikely couple than brilliant Professor August Mulvaney and clairvoyant ex-FBI agent Lucas Blackwell. August is a genius who enjoys torturing his deserving victims … not so much social interactions as he really isn’t experienced in them. Lucas is plagued by his memories and frequent anxiety attacks, his gift of ‘sight’ more of a curse than a useful tool. After a chance encounter, August gets fixated on his quiet coworker. He immediately realizes Lucas guessed the truth about his extracurricular activities. He vows to show the man there is much more to him than his sadistic nature. August isn’t afraid to call on his family for help to woo the ex-agent, which ensures some hilarious scenes. Lucky for August, Noah is there to land a helping hand as none of the Mulvaney brothers are good at relationships. For a vicious psychopath, August is incredibly gentle, thoughtful, and sensual, and becomes the perfect boyfriend Lucas never knew he needed … especially once his violent past comes calling.
