Pure entertainment at its best. I truly enjoyed it the same way you enjoy a good movie.
Will read other books by Don Winslow for sure.

Definitely not 5 stars but a good story. I would've liked more back story.. then I noticed a prequel is coming. I read this whole book on a 10 hour plane ride in between naps and whining kids. It was a good distraction.

Fun quick read. Made me think about the people involved in the drug trade. It is about two spoiled California boys sharing one girl getting caught in a cartel dispute. The writing is frantic, pieces, and sometimes poetry from the characters head. Also every single character gets a voice, even if its for one paragraph. Makes it really engaging. Thank goodness I finally read a book that I can get into, not that its high brow literature by any means, but quick and easily digestable.

Reading Don Winslow is like watching a fast paced action movie. Which, I guess, is why they tried to make a movie out of this book. Mystery, thrills, actions, and all other sorts of words. Fun to read.

This book gave me literal nightmares so I think it was really well done and thrilling but I'd like to never read anything like this again.

This is more of a 2.5. Loved some of the writing but the plot is all over the place and it feels like it could've been tighter as a whole.
