Je n'aimais pas Gideon avant ce roman, mais quel amour !
Je ship à 100% la romance !

I really love the Lords of the Underworld series and I enjoy getting a close glimpse of each Lord and the women they fall for in each book. Showalter has been teasing us with glimpses of Gideon for the past couple of books and he was rapidly becoming my favorite Lord. Everyone had their demons to deal with, but I feel like Gideon was one of the few who had a demon that ALWAYS affected his life. He couldn’t not lie. Ever. It wasn’t the same as dealing with a demon’s outrages or tendencies. He literally couldn’t carry on a conversation without lying and it frustrated him often.

It took me a really long time to like The Darkest Lie. I hated Scarlet and I hated the fact that she was so mean to him and had this whole history with him that he couldn’t remember. I wanted him to fall for someone new and refreshing. Instead, he had to win her over without remembering his past and try to break down the walls around her heart. I was still enjoying the story and I loved her demon, Nightmares, but I wish she was nicer and easier to deal with in general.

I started to like the book about halfway through when Scarlet’s resolve started to crumble a little bit and once the twist happened and things weren’t what they seemed. I started to like Scarlet a little better and understand her and I actually started to root for them as a couple. Also, I liked the way their demons responded to each other. But, like all of the books in the series, I find myself drawn to another Lord once I get a glimpse of them and I’m anxious to see Torin and Amun have their stories.
I am glad I took a break for a little because reading too many of these books at once gets repetitive and I’ll start thinking too hard about her caveman male leads and dialogue, but it’s nice to dive right back in when the mood strikes and I can’t wait to pick up the next book.

I recommend the series to fans of paranormal romance, mythology, and dark male leads who are complicated.

It's really more of a 3.5.

In the sixth book of the Lords of the Underworld series, we are presented with the story of Gideon and Scarlet, a story that was, in the least, curious.

I liked that, unlike the previous books, the protagonist also has a demon inside her, in Scarlet's case it was the demon of nightmares. I found her story the saddest so far, as far as the male and female characters are compared. Scarlet's journey was painful and lonely. It's a good thing that in the end everything got straightened out.

I've liked Gideon since the other books and I still like it a lot. I can't deny that I have fun at times with his lines, as he says everything contrary to what he means. As a couple, they were the cutest so far, and although they're not my favourite couple, they've been through many things that deserved this peace.

One of the highlights of this story was the addition of a lot of crucial information for the hunt for objects, information that going forward will be very important and also a big problem.

I felt sorry for Aeron, William and especially Amun in this book, as they almost died in hell, but at least it all worked out. Not to mention that their visit was crucial for us to find out, with Aeron and Amun, more about Will's past and what he is. Very curious to learn more about his story.

It wasn't one of my favourite books in the series, but that doesn't mean it was bad. This is the sixth book and the author is managing to maintain the level in every one so far, always urging us to want to know more and more about this universe to make it rich.

3.75 stars for this book. While I did enjoy this book, some things did annoy me. Scarlet seemed to do a lot of back and forth action for most of this book. I started wondering when she was going to knock it off, shut up and get with Gideon, who did seem like a bit of a masochist in some scenes. And Gideon speak can be a bit confusing. Wouldn't it be safe to say that there would have been several slips during the centuries, enough for him to build up a tolerance and to learn how to suppress that aspect of his demon's assertions? That's just what I think. I could be wrong. There were also to many story lines in this book. There were times I had to remind myself that this was not the book about these characters. I did, however, enjoy it enough to almost five it 4 complete stars. We'll see how this series continues.

Loved Gideon and Scarlet can't wait to start Amuns book.

Just give this book 5 stars. I don't know why this book not "touch" me like [b:The Darkest Passion|6758331|The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld, #5)|Gena Showalter|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1333828109s/6758331.jpg|6954915]. But its still have a great story

So, Gideon is Keeper of Lies. One day, there is a woman, her name is Scarlet, told him that she is his wife. But Gideon never remember when they are married and why they are now life separated. He can't detect any lie in Scarlet too.

Scarlet is the Keeper of Nightmare, she can unleashed the nightmare in everyone dream. She feel betrayed by Gideon, because he is not remember their marriage. So, Gideon try to remember and digging his memories. But the result is not like he and Scarlet expected...

There are many surprises in this book, not so many as in [b:The Darkest Passion|6758331|The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld, #5)|Gena Showalter|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1333828109s/6758331.jpg|6954915], but still intriguing and need an explanation. There are Greek Gods and Goddesses appearance too, that make the story interesting :)

This book is divided to 3 part, Gideon story, that tell his story with Scarlet to retrieve his memory of their marriage. Amun story, that tell he help Aeron (with help from the Sulky William) to free Legion from Lucifer. And Strider story, his journey to The Temple of Unspoken One and then meet the woman hunter that a long time ago had killed his old friend.

Actually I'm more enjoy Gideon's than Amun or Strider. First I got a hard time to understand his way of talk (with so many lies). But as long as the story goes, we can understand what he talking about.
