I’m not charmed by poetry but I enjoyed listening to this and it’s short so it’s okay lol

Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes

I read this as part of the Tournament of Books Summer reading program (Camp ToB). It's clever in some ways ("Couplets" as a title for a book about coupling, come on!), has a lot of sex, and the narrator seems to be trying to develop a sense of self. It wasn't really my cup of tea, though. I was glad I could read it in two moderate sittings.

Beautiful prose, lovely cover, and very queer, just not really a way of reading I enjoyed (which is more a me thing than anything else).

a truly perfect book

I think maybe I wasn’t smart enough to « get » this book. I wanted to like it because it’s queer. It was sweet in moments, boring in moments, and I barely finished it. Maybe my poetry experience should have ended in high school…

Read in one sitting. Maybe it’s that I read in a metal tube of emotion but this is my favorite pieces of writing that I have read in awhile.

It was a quick lyrical read. The vignettes paint a clear picture of the internal and external transitions of the main narrators sense of self and their love life.
