okay well i love them now. jiang Cheng is so-- and gu fei's just-- anyhow they're perfect for each other and i need to know what happens next...... i am very anxious to know what conflicts the author put into the story.
my initial thoughts 5 min after finishing v1.....
oh my gawd i loved this first volume so much i had expectations bc so many ppl praise this and i was a bit hesitant that i wouldn't connect w it cuz it was hs setting but oh I was pleasantly surprised. Understatement actually cuz I did expect to like it I DIDNT EXPECT TO LOVE IT!!! BRO U KNOW THE SLICE OF LIFE IS GOOD WHEN U CANT STOP YOURSELF FROM READING EVEN MORE.
jiang cheng's feelings of confusion and loneliness and frustration ahhh everything he felt was very palpable that when he first cried by the lake, i cried too. it was such a short mention from gu fei's pov but it rly got to me. gu fei is also a very interesting character and while his "u can depend on this dude" vibes were present throughout the book, how kind he actually is despite his image or reputation, u can also feel his loneliness and exhaustion
the way jiang cheng and gu fei got to know each other through little bits of moments and coincidences felt so natural. and not to get too ahead of the story when it's only v1 but it felt like jiang cheng was able to get little sparks of warmth in his sudden cold isolation with gu feng and gu miaoðŸ˜
my hesitation in the hs setting, cuz i thought i wouldn't connect w the characters or their struggles, YEAH POINTLESS! cuz who doesn't experience the exhaustion of continually bottling ur pain and frustration as u try to survive every day.... FAWKK I LOVED THIS A LOT!!
