I absolutely loved this book! It's a slice-of-life, contemporary young adult, slowburn gay romance about a teen boy (Jiang Cheng) who moves to a new city to live with the biological father he just found out about. I'm not always in the mood for YA these days, but I'd been hearing good things about this series and I wanted to give it a try! (I mean, it's danmei, which is my current obsession, and just look at that cover!! 😍)

Jiang Cheng is a bit of a delinquent (altho he gets good grades which gives people the wrong impression, lolll) and he's always getting into fights and other trouble. I fell in love with him and all the other characters so quickly. They feel so real and the characterization is done flawlessly. And I am sooo here for the main romance, they are so sweet together and the banter is top notch. 👏

If someone were to ask me, "What book is the perfect example of the concept of 'show, don't tell' in writing?" I would throw this book at their head. (Okay, not really. I'm not a fighter like Jiang Cheng. 😂)

Seriously tho, Wu Zhe's writing is phenomenal and I'm an instant fan. I couldn't stop reading and I'm already eager for the rest of the volumes as they come out!

Just over all slow and boring. Though the romance grew on me.
