I tried with this one. It was just way too fluffy. There wasn't really a story here. The couple never really had any real obstacles. They made issues out of non issues. I ended up DNF'ing at Chapter 23.

“One day, I am going to marry Jackson Page. I just had to get him to notice me first.”

I loved Willa, she was strong in an unassuming way. Her silent strength was endearing.

Very rarely do I get to see so much of myself in the heroines of romance novels. Willa, your happily ever after gives me hope.

Sooo I wasn’t crazy about Jackson in book one, but he was great in this book! In Devney fashion there was that suspenseful stressor at the end of the book which I felt like added a little something to just the romance part. I was happy with the ending and epilogue.

Ugh... I’m so disappointed in this story.

After reading Tattered, my interest in Willa and Jackson was sparked. However, 2 chapters into this story I lost interest, quickly.

Willa was waaaaaaay to soft/ timid (I know the name of the book) for me. The proper term was DOORMAT. Even though Jackson wasn’t nearly as annoying as Logan. He was boring, or maybe it was them as a couple.

And the additional drama with his mom just dropped an already lackluster book from a 3 to a 2... simply because the drama didn’t flow with the book. It was like the author decided to shake things up for the sake of shaking it up. But nothing was savaging this story.

The characters were simply too one dimensional and boring. Sorry 😐

Willa is shy and quiet. At 26, she's still a virgin. She's been "in love" with Jackson since she first met him when she was 17. She didn't date until she was in college, and she hadn't been interested enough to even get a first kiss. Jackson is one of the owners of the Lark Cove bar. He doesn't date anyone local and has no interest in anything more than a hook-up with the rich tourists who pass through town.
Jackson is Willa's first kiss - but due to circumstances, he has no memory of it. He keeps dreaming of a beautiful woman with long blond hair, but he has no idea who it is. Until he sees Thea drawing in her sketchbook.
Jackson was also abandoned as a child by first his mother and then his aunt. He spent most of his childhood in and out of foster homes. So he has serious issues with attachment. Willa is the only woman who ever had a chance to break through those issues.

Good story. There's a little drama with Jackson & Willa while they deal with his abandonment issues, and more drama relating to his family later in the book.

It's nice to read how Willa grows out of being shy and quiet all the time and learns how to speak up for what she wants.
