I really loved reading this imperfect story. Imperfect because somewhere along the line the author lost his way in the ending. But it doesn’t take away from how much I enjoyed this wild group of characters. The deaths were gruesome and there were a couple of creepy moments but I was hooked the whole way. I don’t know who I would recommend this book but it is a book that I think more people will like than not.

Red Rabbit is a wonderfully enjoyable combination of adventure and horror. Grecian masterfully balances humorous and loveable character interactions with fantastical violence. I loved Rose, Moses, Benito, and The Huntsman, and watching how their stories came full circle was very satisfying.

I do think there were too many perspectives, however. Too often, the action would pick up, but the chapter would end and switch to a new person's POV. For each switch, Grecian would take time to reiterate the same scenario from the new perspective. This became redundant over time, and really stretched out the reading time unnecessarily.

Additionally, although I liked the plot overall, the longer I spent away from the novel, the more I felt that it was nothing to write home about. I do wish Grecian delved deeper into some of the themes of the novel, like outsiders becoming a chosen family, and the sexism that many female characters experience throughout the book.

Nonetheless, this was still a super fun read!!
