No Fever...And nothing we haven't read before. I really wanted Feverborn to be awesome and fit right into the rest of the Fever Series and redeem the series from Iced but alas I cannot say it does. Though Burned may have made a very slight rebound, the first five books of this series is AWESOME and probably should have ended with Shadowfever. Ice and Burned were just mediocre as is Feverborn. No fever, no fire, not even a flame. At times Feverborn is so off the mark and confusing for me I don't know what is really going on since almost everything has a double meaning. There are no surprises or real passion between the characters. They just go on is stasis with separate agendas and attempt to meet in the middle. However, Part IV of Feverborn does save it from a bad review as the lesson of love, redemption and forgiveness comes across loud and clear. KMM is an awesome writer and still one of my favorites. Maybe the next installment, Feversong, will bring back some of the old fever and bring this series back to it's grandeur..."Same bloody page. Same bloody word."

Okay, so I didn't actually read all of it. I read a bunch of reviews... which all said there was zero plot until the ending. So... I did what I usually don't do and skipped to to last third of the book. I was a little confused at some parts, but otherwise it was pretty easy to pick up. I'm kinda glad I didn't waste my time with the rest of the book. The ending was interesting, and good enough to keep me invested in the series.

I love that I don't have to wait another year (or more) for this.

Nothing in this universe makes any sense anymore, but I’m giving it 3.5 stars because there was more Dani and less Mac whining.

At this point I’m pretty much only sticking with this series to see if Dani/Ry get their HEA.

Jerrico Barrons is so trash I cannot even. At one point in the story, Mac needs actual emotional support and his way of doing that is to ask, “Do you know why you fuck so good?” Girl. Is this your King? And oh! They’re not boyfriend/girlfriend. EYE. ROLL.

And I guess Mac is over his whole violation of erasing her mind after having sex with her? It’s never mentioned not even once! She just suddenly is not mad anymore. Cool!

And the calling her Ms. Lane is still super weird. It’s one thing to call her by her last name - that can be affectionate! But nooo all of a sudden it’s something only he calls her in bed? And she agrees? Mac, where’s your feckin backbone?

Also very miffed that Dageus and Chloe’s HEA from The Dark Highlander has been kind of ruined. I have no idea how KMM thinks to solve the situation but I guarantee it will make very little sense!

Once again, Dani is precious and wonderful and I hope Shazam is really real. Protect them both at all costs.

I don't think that Feverborn really did anything to enhance the rest of the series. It feels like all of the characters are in a holding pattern while Moning figures out how she wants to end things. I'm holding my breath as I dash on to book 9 that things pick up and that Moning starts taking some narrative risks again.

How DARE you end a book like that??? Especially when I don’t have the next one yet. In all seriousness, yes, loved it can’t wait to keep going ❤️
