The cliffhanger!!!!  The series hangover I’ll have when I’m done is going to be severe.

Yargh.....Moning is beginning to lose me here with the 8th in the Fever series. Too much! Too many threads to keep track of (thankfully the guide at the back of the book makes that a tad easier). Too many relationships.

Christian has turned into an Unseelie Prince and is after his uncle, Ryodan and Barrons want to find the song of Making to stop the black holes, Jada is trying to kill everything in sight, and Mac is one confused bundle of feelings/nerves struggling with an addiction to Unseelie flesh and denying the return of someone extremely important to her.

But there's too much. There's also Lor and Jo; Kat and Kasteo; love-triangle with Dancer, frequent bouts of aggressive sexxoring between Barrons and Mac, Cruce conspiring with the Roach King, the question of whether the evil book of magic the Sinsar Dubh is still controlling Mac, the question of whether they will accept Jada/Dani, what will happen to the sidhe-seers, etc. etc. Just too much. So many momentous things have happened/are still happening in this book on both the action and emotional level that as a reader I felt buffeted between feelings and climaxes (tee hee, little purposeful joke there) and had a hard time believing Mac would forget about the black holes long enough to go back to Darroc's old place, and then forget about who she found there to have a meeting with Ryodan about the black holes, and then at the end momentous things like one of the nine being killed gets glossed over in snatches of short dialogue exposition.

It's just too much, and the craziness doesn't seem to be letting up at all at the end of this one, as it ends with Jada and Mac in a precarious place. But my fire to keep on reading has lessened somewhat. There is still dialogue that makes me laugh out loud. There's still observations of emotional tap-dancing that completely ring true. The Nine are still fun to read about (but is it weird that I find Barron's awesomeness to be lessened because he shares such a carbon copy awesomeness with Ryodan and others?) but....it's just too much to keep track of.

I need like two or three story threads and horrible dooms to keep track of instead of like 6. I might have it in me to attempt one more in the series, but seriously, the loose threads need to get woven together at some point.

Do not attempt to read if you haven't read the prior books in the series first. Seriously. It will drive you crazy. You won't know who anyone is or why they run around town flexing their muscles and obsessing over sex or killing fae.

I loved the book. I was completely sucked in and really like where things are going. There is a lot going on and I do agree with some reviews, I don't know how KMM is going to wrap this up in two more books. Although I wonder if we will have a spin off series (maybe about the 9) after these are done. Anyway, again, as with Burned, I think some of the negative reviews seem to relate to the fact it isn't a Dani focused book. She is there quite a bit but the book is really spread out over quite a few characters (hence my statement about there only being 2 books left). But, yes, the book is about Mac. How could it not be? This all started with Sinsar Dubh and it has to end with it one way or another. Mac is the Sinsar Dubh. How do you finish the story and not have focus on her? Just doesn't work. I think Dani will play a major role in the next book considering the cliffhanger. Waiting for this next book to come out is going to kill me! Ugh!

Whoa. Some of this I saw coming, but some left me gaping. Maybe if I’d read these timely I’d have a different opinion, but I still love these books.

A master of the cliff hanger ending...

Better than #7, which was pretty annoying and seemed to have jumped the shark. And yet I cannot resist this series - despite the stupid bits, Mac and Dani/Jada are compelling characters for me. And I'm getting used to the cliffhangers at the end of each installment.

Blah, blah, F word, blah blah F word, MacKeltars can't catch a break. The author appears to be running out of ideas and over compensating with profuse amount of F words. Just ok.

Doing a 're-read' before picking up Mac & Barron's last adventure from the library this week.

Bloody hell. Holy shit. And lots of other profanity.
