Wow, this series is amazing. I won't be able to focus on life until I finish them all!
Update: still love this series but the new male narrator for this book made all the male characters sound like 90 year old men. DISLIKE.

I was going to give this book 3 stars but those last few chapters sucked me in and I was loving this book more than I did in the beginning. I absolutely adore Mac and Barrons, their storyline can go on forever and I will still want to read but Mac's internal dialogue was draining for most of the book. I wanted more conversations with everyone and less internal thinking about nothing really important. Jada/Dani was perfection ... Exactly what I was expecting from her ... I wanted something emotional to happen with her and Ryoden but I understand that she is not ready for that yet. Then there was the cliffhanger ending and in was like .. What ... Nooooooo!

Why -.5? I kind of liked Lor until he opened his mouth. I could have done without the chapter written from his POV.
Why 4.5? Any story that makes me, "OMG. Whaaaaaaat." every couple of chapters deserves its kudos. And just when I think all the characters are developed and the twists are navigated, just when I think, surely, nothing more nerve-racking and explosive can happen so close to the end, it happens again: "OMG. Whaaaaaaat."

I thought the last 2 books were a little disappointing but perhaps the story had just run its course. But, to me, Feverborn was similar to the earlier books in the series and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The story is told primarily from Mac and Dani's perspectives but there are a few chapters that are told from the perspective of the other characters and I did enjoy that. I had grown a little tired of Mac continually beating herself up for Dani running off but I think we are finally past that and I am already anxious to read the next book in the series.
I don't under stand how you can have novel that is 300 pages and not be able to advance the plot even a smidgen. Add that to a stupid cliffhanger and you get a two star rating.
I don't know how to rate this. It sucked and was confusing most of the way through, then the last couple of chapters were awesome and then it cliffhangered. It was too long, too confusing but the last little bit got me. Sigh. Guess this means I have to read the next one.
This book was everything I was hoping it would be! The yearlong waits for this series are the worst though, especially with that cliffhanger.
