Another freaking awesome book. I adore this series! I get a little confused with Mac's personality, but I attribute it to her being written like a normal person, because I too have typical highs and lows. I cannot believe I have to wait until next freaking JANUARY for the last book, so sad.

So. Freaking. Good.

Every book in this series is amazing and this one is no exception. I can’t wait to find out what happens to Mac and Dani next.

I started this book a while ago and after reading some of the reviews left by others I wondered if it was even worth reading.
Today I finished the book and I have to say it is definitely worth reading. I adore the wonderful characters that Karen Marie Moning creates. That being said, her characters are incredibly flawed and at times annoying. Dani/Jada and Mac were getting on my last nerve in this book behaving like self-absorbed idiots. That being said, considering the tortures they've gone through and the lack of proper time to adjust and have a safe environment in which to do so, it really is no wonder.
These characters are a product of the messed up world they dwell in as we all are to a certain extent.

Now there is a lot of sex in this book and there's a lot of unknowns that the characters continuously ponder while the bad guys in this series are laying traps. This book felt like a filler as the last 2 did but personally I found it to be a meatier filler that addressed some of the concerns left from the previous books. It complicated a few things as well. Such as who is really Dancer and is he as innocuous as he seems; who the ef is Jada and what did she do with Dani; and does Mac really have her ish together?

I think in some respects the entire book was set up in a manner to work through some of these issues while at the same time lulling us as readers in to a sense of security. For Mac, Barron is her security. The spear is her security. Being able to get amped up on Unseelie flesh is her security. By the time you get to the end of the book you realize all too late what was really going on. That being said, I feel like a lot of the happenings in the last few books really should've been condensed or sectioned out into optional story lines. Some characters are naturally going to be more interesting then others and the way POV switches occur, it's impossible to really get a good sense of what's going on with some of the more "minor" characters.

I'm definitely waiting for the next in the series and I'm hoping it has more meat and mature angst (vs teenage I-didn't-get-my-way angst) then the last few ones.

İlk başta gereksiz bir atarla atıp tuttuğum için affet Karen aşkım. Seni seviyorum.
Ama Baroons’ı daha çok.

I loved the change in this novel and the realization between Jada and Mac about why they "needed to be fixed." This novel was full of interesting realizations and some moments where I wanted to scream at it. (Actually, I did at the end of this book. I ended up getting looks when I screamed "no" at the ending.)

This wasn't one of my favorites but it was a superb story and a beautiful way to expand the series!

Cliffhanger! I can't believe I have to wait a year for the next book.

Meh. It was just okay. Still love Mac and Barrons but.... In the just meh.

I love everything about this book.
There's action, romance, fun, adventure, surprises, and everything you could possibly think of that makes a great story.
My one complaint is the epic cliffhanger it ends with. How could it stop there!?!?!

Another engrossing addition to the fever series! I love where this is going, and I can't wait for the next book!

I had forgotten a lot of my pedo concerns from books 6 and 7, since it had been a while since I read the previous installment and I didn't reread the series before getting this book. I was quickly reminded but felt that Moning toned it down a bit so it felt a little less creepy and overbearing. Or maybe I am being brainwashed slowly overtime, so I will eventually come around.

But afterwards I was left with a feeling of, "Wait what happened?" and in short the answer is not a whole lot of anything. The same feelings were rehashed, there wasn't much further character development, no problems were really solved. It all just built up to the next book; I just read 400 pages of filler.
Spoiler There were a few new plot points such as Alina somehow being alive again, but we don't know how or why; or that Dani/Jada and Mac have mended their relationship once again. But really the focus seemed to be how nothing was solved around the black holes; Barrons still won't commit to a labeled relationship with Mac, but boy oh boy he has a large endowment and knows how to use it, and will always be there for her; the book is in Mac and no one knows who is in control and what it means; Jada/Dani has issues etc.

Yet somehow Moning drew me back in to the world and characters and I enjoyed this while I was reading it. I'm pleading momentary insanity on this one.
