It took me a while to get into it, especially because I didn’t have much time over the past few days. But once I sat down to read, I immediately finished the rest of the book because it completely captivated me.

Like every other book I’ve read so far, the storyline was interesting, and the characters experienced meaningful development, which I always appreciate - especially Xavier’s. I never imagined I’d end up liking him so much, as I usually dislike these types of male characters. But he was so well written, and it was refreshing to see his true personality shine through. He might be my favorite male character from the Kings of Sins series, although I also liked Sloane. She’s not necessarily my favorite female character, but I still enjoyed her personality and felt there was a sense of authenticity to her.

I really enjoyed reading the book - a story about redemption, facing one’s fears and emotions, and not to forget, all the revenge. A solid 4.5/5.

Me, trying to find the chemistry between the main characters:

As I’ve said before, Ana Huang is like my author equivalent of an ex you can’t quite or when you’re craving fast food. This time, she hit the fucking spot. Sloane & Xavier are actually surprisingly incredibly endearing and check every box for some of my favorite tropes. This is not any award winning prose, and the ‘spice’ is Taco Bell mild, but I had fun and that’s all I can ask for when it comes to her series.

Because how can you not fall in love with an opposites attract couple with just enough similarities to be infuriated with each other at times, where the one who’s the emergency contact ends up needing the reckless one to be by her side? It’s endearing and fun and sweet. I’d lean more towards 4.25 or 4.5 but the closest I can give a five.

I almost DNF’d this one like a hundred times. The plot was boring, it feels like an insta-love story (which I hate) and the characters weren’t that interesting.
In my opinion, it felt dragged and it was the worst one from the Ana Huang’s universe

Sloane and Xavier's relationship throughout the entire book was so tension filled and I enjoyed every second of it. Once I started reading I could not stop! Sloane being more serious and Xaiver being one to always look for the fun makes the grumpyxsunshine dynamic so much more fun to read. Watching their characters develop was the highlight of the entire book for me. I adore both of them for separate reasons, but I love them together.

Throughout all of their endeavors they leaned on each other especially when things got hard. I shed a couple tears because I can relate to both Sloane and Xaiver because family is not always the one you are born into. Aisde from the tears, the sexual tension was just chefs kiss. I love a good workplace romance, especially when its done right. Xaiver is
