I really enjoyed this medical thriller! It reminded me of Grey's Anatomy with higher stakes and less melodrama. I wasn't very satisfying with the ending, though. It could have used a more cohesive conclusion.
Somewhat predictable, yet compelling to keep you reading. It seemed at times like the plot was quite forced. The characters were convincing but there was not enough genuine connection. I was just unable to connect and get emotionally involved in the book with the characters. I love Tess Gerritsen's writing and I believe she is a great writer, but no one can hit a home run every time.
Mark is absolutely going to be the bad guy, and that meeting had creepy vibes... only because I know what type of book this is.
Harvest won't fall under Gerritsen's best work. The storyline was quite predictable and I didn't bond with the main character. The idea behind the story was interesting but the execution didn't do it for me.
A fast-paced, exciting, compelling read that left me thinking this should be a series on TV. I'm excited to move on to her other books and especially to start the series upon which TNT's new show "Rizzoli and Isles" is based.
I'm glad to see that my initial suspicion of Mark was entirely justified! . I'm sure plenty of readers had the same feeling, but I want to feel special so I will.
I wish this were a series so that I could see how Abby, Yakov and Katzka end up!

When a doctor uncovers what might be an underground organ selling system, things are bad enough. When organs seem to be coming from outside the donor bank, however, where they're coming from becomes a frightening possibility.
Dodging bullets, accusations, career-wrecking lawsuits and worse, Abby DiMatteo struggles even to keep her life while still fighting to find more evidence, before she's buried with the rest of the information.
Tension was good, the voice was good, but there were a few weak moments - and the ending was very sudden. I wasn't so happy with where the story ended, though the story was wrapped up. I think I just needed a few more bits of conversation out of Abby. Ah well - it could be there was more but the abridgement (I only got an abridged audio version of this one) cut a bit too much.
Overall, quite enjoyed the listening experience.
