Really incredible book and read similarly to Educated. This is exactly the kind of book that I think works incredibly as an audiobook
Not bad,but could have been shorter. I am familiar with much of the history of treatment for serious mental illness, which otherwise would have interested me more.

Equal parts fascinating and heartbreaking—not unlike the disease of schizophrenia itself. It's clear, even before the author's note explains how the information in this book was obtained (countless hours and many years of research, including interviews with every member of the Galvin family) that this is a marvel of research that somehow manages to equally and compellingly balance the story of a decades-long quest to understand schizophrenia with the story of a family under siege from within. The audiobook was an excellent listen, too!
