Not quite 4 stars, but close. Incredibly interesting, well-researched, but I couldn't help but feel wanting at the book's end. Since the author spent so much time on the development of schizophrenia treatment's, I can't help but want to meet a family who is flourishing with the help of the Galvin family research. Or success stories with new treatments. Regardless, I learned a lot.

Parts of it are tragic, parts of it are hopeful, and parts of it are just interesting.

(Added bonus of learning more about the local history of the city wherein I live)

An absolutely fascinating look into the history of Schizophrenia and a look into a family with 6 brothers with it. I learned quite a bit from this book, and would highly recommend to anyone who has interest

a fascinating story of how schizophrenia can affect people differently and the people around them - it was also interesting to see the history of schizophrenia research and the age old question of nature vs nurture.
