This book was so unexpectedly sweet and fluffy. The cover and the title don't do the content justice in my opinion. While it was quite spicy, the emotional journey is what made this book truly enjoyable!

Cole is a one-and-done type, and Ren is a serial monogamist. Ren's partner moves out without telling him, and he goes out with his best friend to drown his sorrows. He and Cole meet at a bar and share a brief kiss, after which they both can't stop thinking about the other. They meet again six months later at the same bar and Ren sleeps with Cole, as a rebound. A few weeks later Ren hires a contractor to redecorate his bathroom, and it turns out to be Cole. Simultaneously they chat on a dating app without realizing they're talking to each other.

These are not unique tropes by any means, but the way the author approached them made this such a refreshing read. What I liked the most is that the book doesn't end as soon as they overcome their obstacles, but instead we spend enough time watching the relationship evolve, and the MCs being there for each other. They also communicate about their needs and fears throughout the book which was a refreshing break from the usual miscommunication drama. What a perfect read just in time for Valentines!
