FULL REVIEW ON MY BLOG

Disclaimer: I received an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I joined a blog tour for this book's release, and I'll post a separate (and full) review on my blog. I'll link it here once it's up.

But, oh boy! I fell in love with this book. Every page was giving me hope. I can't wait to talk about this on my full review, but please do grab a copy when it gets released!

Wikathon Prompt: S2PID Love

"When you’re in love, everything seems urgent. Everything has to be now. You have to be with them now. You have to know now. You get what I mean?”

I enjoyed Elan and Caty's story. Individually, they are very interesting characters and I like the feel-good romance! The writing style is also very entertaining and easy to follow.

I enjoyed reading this book especially because it's from a Filipino author and the book is a fast-paced book. I'll probably re-read this again when I'm in a reading slump.

This book was so incredible! I was honestly so hooked from the very beginning. I read because I love stories and I read romances because I thinking stories about love are the best kind. This book was just that. A beautiful story about people falling in love. It felt so real. Like I was hearing about how someone’s parents fell in love or friends of mine. It wasn’t more or less than what it needed to be it was just right. I also love this cover a lot wow.

This book is on my top ten books of all time and I wanted to refresh my memory to confirm that. I know I love it and would still give it a five stars but I am debating it’s spot on that list in my mind. Although this book has many reasons it should be and will always remain one of the best books ever. I love the When Harry Met Sally vibes it gave and this story is just so fun and real.

*Re-read 8/16/21*
This is a sweet and quick comfort read for me at this point and I think it will be forever. I just really love this story.

The right kind of angst and romance I never knew I needed. This is the first Philippine setting novel I've read in a long time and it did not disappoint at all.

Elan was very easy to love because he clearly passes as my ideal type of guy (except for the lawyer part). His patience is what I love the most about him. Maybe because I rarely see it in real life as I am an impatient person myself. Caty, there's so much to love about her. Firstly, her name ㅡ Catalina. Second, her talent in doing shoots, I can totally imagine her doing it and slaying it at the same time. And her personality all in all.

I love the banters so, so much. For a book that's heavy on conversations, Dawn Lanuza kept me entertained the whole time. Though it felt like it was such a short read (only if I wasn't preoccupied with work), I can say that I loved it from beginning to end and I wish I could read more about Elan and Caty because their chemistry is unbelievably great. You could tell they're really meant for each other. It's just a matter of taking a leap of faith. Or quoted from the book, "one has to be braver than the other."

Also, just to point it out, I relate to Caty's character a lot especially on parts where she's portrayed as a character who either pushes people away or get too close to them to the point that she'll scare them away.

If I wanted something more from the book, I guess it would be an extended epilogue (or book 2!) since I needed more of Elan and Caty's banters after everything they've been through.

I am thinking of reading Lanuza's other books as I think they are somewhat connected because of the special appearances of some characters from the other books. But I just couldn't let go of Elan and Caty yet. Easily one of my favorite fictional couples.

P.S. I couldn't get over Elan being a ballroom dancer.

Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC!

Caty is extremely funny and authentic. I really liked her. But Elan... I don't know exactly what happened, but for some reason he annoyed me. I took longer than I expected to read it. I've read other books by this author before and I think she's amazing! But... Well, I believe that some books work better with certain people, and this one just wasn't written for me. I'm hoping for some better luck next time. :)
