Welcome to Berkley Street, 125 to be exact, where the house holds more ghosts than is normal. Be careful when you turn a corner. You may end up in a different part of the house than where you intended to go - as the house has a mind of its own.
In the darkness lurks a ghost, one more sinister than the others, and is determined to kill Shane Ryan.

Great read! This one has a lot of backstory that I feel is going to be important as the series moves forward. I enjoyed meeting some of the resident ghosts, and their stories as well.

First book of the month, and well, it didn’t start with a bang. I had high hopes for this book, but sadly it didn’t live up to the expectation I had hope. The narrative was fantastic and I could listen to him all the time. I was just a bit disappointed as this book just did not scare me. I didn’t get a shiver….nothing.

There was too much that I have no answers for, I mean Shane’s aunt and uncle are missing and the police think they were murdered by Shane and in his house, but yet one of the detectives stops investigating to just join him in his haunted house, and it’s not spoke of again. We have a few open-ended storylines here, so I am not sure if these are covered in the next books. To be honest, I am not sure if I will carry on the series. I did love Carl, who seemed a gentle soul, however, his malevolent behaviour at the beginning of the book just didn’t fit with the character we came to know during the story.

When we find out who is the pond, I feel like I missed something, something is scratching my brain about how I should be surprised by this but I think, due to the fact I was listening to this book I may / may not switch off, I missed the relevance – which is annoying me! But I know that the name of the girl in the pond, well we kinda knew it already so maybe I have missed something. Urgh

It wasn’t all bad, I was expecting more and wanted more. I wanted to be petrified but I got nothing. If I don't think of a book to scare me, it was enjoyable as we travelled with Shane on his journey to find his parents, who went missing some years ago.

I’m glad I gave this a go, I am just unsure if I will carry on the series.

Awesome

I really loved this story. Was suspenseful and well written, entertaining and at times creepy. The characters were well written and given character development. The big baddie was menacing despite being a character we have seen before. Shane Ryan is a likable protagonist and the world building is great. I enjoyed the entire novel. Recommend it if you want an entertaining and interesting horror story.

The concept of this book was interesting, but it read more like a first draft than a finished novel. If the author had built suspense by describing events instead of telling them, the story would have been more enjoyable, but I liked the idea of the house and the characters, including the unique ghosts.

This was a fast-paced book that you can easily read in one sitting. It had the foundation to be a solid book; however, the plot was heavy with little character development.  I ended up wanting more background on the main protagonist.  I will confess, however, I will probably read the other books in the series eventually.

Berkley Street (Berkley Street Series # 1)🍒🍒🍒🍒
By Ron Ripley

Creepy and odd would describe the house Shane Ryan grew up in....he returns 20 years later when his parents dusappear.
Restless spirits....servant passages....doors that appear and disappear.....secret rooms....this house has a history all its own.
Just don't got near the lake....

"Everything is impossible until it isn't."
Recommended!

I listened to the audiobook. The narrator did a great job and the book was well written and the story was good.
I might try and read it later on in the future.
