This book was pretty dense. There were some solid principles, but it felt like a lot of labeling for things that we already innately know, we just don’t have names for. While I think this book could be really helpful for someone that doesn’t have much experience with feedback, if you’ve been somewhere in which the feedback culture is high, you might find it a little redundant.

I read this book because my mentor at UCLA suggested it when we discussed the difficulty of soliciting and learning from feedback. (This is my pitfall-if you suggest a book to me with even slightly compelling reasoning, I WILL read it!

This book gives practical advice for becoming a better recipient of feedback. I am not generally good at receiving feedback. And this book gave me some ideas to improve. Most of the advice in this book is one form or another of separating one's emotional reaction to feedback from the content of the feedback.
